Procedure
Patients with non-obstructive azoospermia (no sperms found in semen due to failure of sperm production in the testis) are candidates for this procedure. A comprehensive evaluation is conducted to determine the cause of the disease, which includes imaging, extensive laboratory tests (including genetic tests), and possibly consultation with an endocrine specialist at our center. Following this evaluation, a period of treatment may be necessary before undergoing surgery. The success rate varies depending on the cause of the disease, but in general, our center achieves a success rate of around 30%.
A paid online consultation can be performed first with one of our consultants using a video call to assess and prescribe the necessary medications before coming to Jordan to do the surgery.
The procedure is a day-case procedure. The patient is admitted in the morning to the hospital, fasting after midnight. It is usually performed under general anesthesia and takes 60-90 minutes.
In the case of finding sperms, freezing of sperms is performed at an extra cost.
The patient is advised to stay in Jordan for three days after the procedure for follow-up.
