Patients with erectile dysfunction not responding to medical treatment are considered for penile implant surgery, thorough evaluation is performed by our consultants including cardiology evaluation and risk assessment, if patients’ condition is suitable, he will be offered penile implant surgery.

Two types of implants are offered for the patient:
malleable and inflatable types, all implants used at our center are from AMS-Boston Scientific that are made in the united states and covered with antibiotic solution to reduce risk of infection.

Surgery requires one-night stay at the hospital, patient is admitted on the day of surgery, hair trimming is performed in the surgical ward with antiseptic shower, certain blood tests are performed before surgery if not already performed prior to admission.

Surgery usually takes 60-90 minutes and patient is transferred back to his room after recovery, with dressing at site of surgery and urethral catheter that is kept till next morning.
